Drew Sinatra, N.D., Integrative Medicine

Dr. Drew Sinatra’s interest in medicine began with a personal experience battling severe childhood asthma and allergies.  After a decade of relying on inhalers and steroids to breathe, he weaned himself off all medications by radically changing his diet, and incorporating holistic therapies into his daily life including botanical medicines, meditation techniques, homeopathy, and yoga therapy.

From this experience, Dr. Sinatra learned that medicine must shift from “disease care” to true 'health care” for quality of life to improve.  He is incredibly passionate about educating the public and his patients about optimal wellness, and has learned over the years that health is not a destination, but rather a journey that continually requires an integration of body, mind, and spirit.

Before deciding to move with his family to the Bay Area, Dr. Sinatra practiced integrative medicine at a multidisciplinary center in Vancouver, British Columbia   He is thrilled to work along side Dr. McDougall and Dr. Tenney at CLEAR, as these doctors truly embody wellness medicine.

He has written several articles as a contributing editor for the HeartMDInstitute, which builds awareness around heart healthy lifestyle measures including diet, exercise, and targeted nutritional support.  He recently submitted a chapter for an integrative nutritional cardiology textbook titled “Naturopathic Medicine in the Prevention and Treatment of Cardiovascular Disease.”

Dr. Sinatra earned his undergraduate degree in Neuroscience, and continued his education with a master’s degree in Acupuncture, and a doctorate degree in Naturopathic Medicine.  He is a member of the California Naturopathic Doctors Association (CNDA), American College of Nutrition (ACN), and International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society (ILADS).  He is a board certified and California licensed Naturopathic Doctor, and a licensed acupuncturist in Washington State.

When Dr. Sinatra is not spending time with his wife, son, and Italian greyhound, he avidly enjoys yoga, hiking, kiteboarding, and frequenting farmers markets.

"I operate a family medicine practice that blends the best of naturopathic, conventional, and biological medicines.  My specialties including treating fatigue, digestive disorders, cardiovascular concerns, mycotoxin (mold) illnesses, and lyme disease patients who have not responded well to anti-biotic therapy.  My approach to treating lyme and associated chronic infections is to work primarily on the terrain by supporting the immune system and detoxification pathways, and to utilize herbal medicines to reduce the microbial burden".
